US Ex-Im has launched a Regional Export Promotion Programme to boost US exports. The scheme had 38 member organisations at the time of launch on August 1. Organizations eligible for membership include local, regional, or state economic development organizations or World Trade Centers that assist small businesses.

The export credit agency will aid exporters, primarily SMEs, with access to lenders, insurers and government export resources. For more information on joining the program, please visit the REPP application page at http://www.exim.gov/who-we-serve/repp.

Ex-Im has had to focus more on supporting the efforts of smaller businesses since its two-member board falls short of the quorum required to approve deals of greater than $10 million. That handicap has left a backlog of more than $10 billion of authorisations.
