Tekhnopromexport wins Bandar Abbas power project

Tekhnopromexport, part of Russian industrial conglomerate Rostec, has won a contract to build a 1.4 GW thermal power project at Bandar Abbas, Hormozgan province, in Iran. The project comprises 4x350 MW generators and a seawater desalination plant with a capacity of 200,000 cubic meters per day.

According to local Russian newspaper reports, the deal is backed by a $1.3 billion Russian government export loan priced at 2.77% annual interest to cover 85% of the project costs.
